I brought my suv in for a check engine light on, after running a check I was called by the President Ralph that I needed 2 coils and spark plugs that would cost $600.00. I bought the coils from the same place ( Lordco) that they had called for the parts at 1\2 the price, they Ralph said the coils would be $440.00 the majority of the bill. When he was given the parts and put them in my bill should've been a lot less as the $440.00 in parts was now gone. My bill was still $599.11 what a con artist and just put the $400.00 in labor for an hour of work. worst place ever!!!
- I would like to apologize for any miscommunication on Crompton’s part. Your husband brought in the vehicle and it was running bad and he stated it had become unsafe to drive. We had to start with the diagnostic process at $149 which our trained technicians went through the vehicle to find out what was wrong with the vehicle so we know the most probable starting point to help avoid unnecessary costs and repairs to our customers. We do not perform repair work without this first step and with the vehicle having 199,535 miles on it, we feel it is a necessary step. From there we determined 2 coils and spark plugs were the problem and quoted roughly $600 to have that additional work done. I should have made this more clear while communicated with your husband but this $600 was not including the original $149 diagnostics charge, it was just a quote for the additional work to repair the problem with the vehicle. Your second concern with the difference in cost on parts has to do with our 3 year, 36k kilometer warranty for parts and labour in which we do not offer on customer provided parts and had no problem installing the coils provided when your husband said he can get them cheaper, but again we do not warranty those parts at that point. The cost of the spark plugs, labour to install those spark plugs and your supplied coils was $357.44 but this did not include the original $149 diagnostics charge which then brought your total to just under $600. I cannot apologize enough for your feeling as if Crompton’s took advantage of you or your family. We strive to provide the highest value to our customers. We appreciate you taking the time to discuss this with you over the phone and also bringing your concerns to light. We are glad to hear the vehicle is running great and if you have any additional questions or concerns please contact us.
